This is an extract from an 1864 Map of Hayling Island. It extends from the 1824 road bridge in the north to Stoke village to the south. It also shows the route of the proposed railway running on an embakment, from the railway bridge off the coast in Langstone Harbour. Two ares of Common Land are present, Creek Common to the north and Stoke Common just to the west of Stoke village.
