    Post Meeting Report

The AGM was extremely interesting and I learnt a lot about the Group’s activities. The skill set held within the Group allows them to support surveys about flora and fauna. This is just the sort of skill set needed to address the HB50 objectives in the conservation area. They carry out work with the RSPB preparing the nesting sites ready for the breeding season on the RSPB Islands and also at the Oysterbeds. They look out for issues and correct them, in conservation sites around the island. These are only some examples of the work carried out. All are volunteers and their dedication is obvious.

I used Powerpoint slides to describe HB50 objectives for the website and the conservation area, West Hayling LNR and Hayling Billy LNR. Using the survey data and photographs, we could catalogue the flora/fauna in the area. This in turn would be valuable to provide information packs to schools and to create leaflets etc. This is only one of the areas where working together would be a great strength.

I look forward to hearing from the group.
