A beautiful model. How long did it take to build? Most of the model, I guess, would have been scratch built. Could you please describe the construction?
Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
Many thanks for your kind comment and interest. I built the model over 17 years (with 7 years off in the middle for 2 house moves). It uses castings for the wheels and cylinders etc but the rest is, as you say, scratch-built mostly in a shed. I took a 1 year course in welding at South Downs College to get access to Oxy-Acetylene equipment to build the copper boiler which has been tested to 200 PSI but runs at 100PSI. The loco carries additional weight in the tanks and has successfully pulled myself plus 6 adults on the Bransbury Park track of the Portsmouth Society of Model Engineers.
